Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas!  I wanted to share with you with one of my favorite Christmas songs "Someday at Christmas" by Jack Johnson.  I love some Jack Johnson but that is an entire  different Blog topic:)  Enjoy!

What is your favorite Christmas song?

Essie Nail Polish......Chinchilly!

I thought I would do a quick post about my current favorite nail polish.  I am so obsessed with Taupes and Greys and blogged about this particular nail polish in a previous post  On The Hunt.  Essie Chinchilly is a sleek granite grey from the Essie Fall 09 Collection Cuddle with Color and is still available for purchase.  I bought mine at Ulta of course.  Neutrals are sophisticated and and perfect for winter.

For best results:  Apply two coats and a clear top coat.  My favorite dry fast top coat is Seche Vite.

What do you think of this color?  What is your favorite nail polish this season?

Product Rave!

My hairdresser used this delicious smelling leave in conditioner in my hair.  So, of course I wanted to know exactly what it was and the brand.  It was KMS California Moistrepair leave-in conditioner.  I found this at Ulta and immediately purchased it.

I'm always trying new leave in conditioners because I am obsessed with them.  I think it is important to use this in your hair especially if you blow dry and flat iron your hair as often as I do.  The first thing that draws me in is the smell.  It is infused with vanilla and aloe. Yum! It leaves my hair super soft and fresh.  Even towards the end of night, I get compliments of my hair smelling so good.  It also makes my hair super soft and silky.  The cost is around $16.00 but last forever.  It will take me a long time to get through the bottle.

Pink Friday!

I am so obsessed with Nicki Minaj right now.  She recently designed a lipstick for MAC called Pink Friday!  The drama of getting this lipstick was crazy!  Pink Friday was available online at midnight for four Fridays ONLY.  I decided I really wanted this after seeing it on Nicki during a documentary on MTV called "My Time Now".  I have her song Romans Revenge stuck in my head.  Maybe I'm crazy.  However, I did get lucky and score this baby even though the Mac website kept freezing up!

Love her look!

Here's mine....

Cherry On Top Award!

I received a Cherry On Top Award from Jolene at JewelryBead's Beauty Blog.  Please check out her Classy and Fabulous blog which I enjoy reading.

Here are the rules to pass this award along:

1. Pick 3 people/blogs and give them this award (very difficult to pick just three with so many great blogs out there!)

2. You then have to inform the person that they have received this award.

3. Answer this question: If you had the chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be??

The following blogs are beautiful blogs with that little bit extra!

And the Award goes to....

I wouldn't change anything in my life because it has made me who I am today.  I'm proud of my journey in life.

So, Thank you for nominating me Jolene.

Product Rave!

PROCLAIM ARGAN OIL is my obsession of the week.  I picked this up at Sally's Beauty Supply for a mere $4.99. I really love the MoroccanOil brand but it seems so expensive and has a bit of an orange tint.  I could only put it in the brown part of my hair because it would leave the blonde with streaks of orange.  Since the Proclaim product was affordable, I thought I would give it a try.  I am obsessed!  It smells so delicious.  Very different from the MorocconOil but smells just as good.  It is clear so I won't have to worry about putting it in the blonde portion of my hair.  There are several ways to use Argan Oil.  You can put it in your hair when it is wet, put it on after your hair is dry, you can mix it with your conditioner, you can also do a treatment in which you would soak your hair in it and sleep overnight.  You can even douse your skin with it.  I decided to put it in my hair when it was wet, then I dried my hair as I do normally.  It made my hair silky smooth.  Amazing results.

Argan Oil is an oil produced from the kernels of the Argan tree in Morocco.  It remains to be one the rarest oils in the world.  It is used for nutrition, medicinal and cosmetic purposes.  Really interesting to read about.    All argan sold today is produced by a women's cooperative that shares the profits among the local women of the Berber tribe. The cooperative has established an ecosystem reforestation project so that the supply of argan oil will not run out and the income that is currently supporting the women will not disappear. The money is providing healthcare and education to the local women, and supporting the entire community as a whole.  (Information provided by Wikipedia)

I am on the hunt all the time for the most RANDOM things.  This week its for Fabulous Fall Fingernail polishes.  I'm obsessed with greys and taupes at this time.  The colors are a break away from the typical black vampy look.  Great for Halloween but not for everyday.  This is a very inexpensive but classy way to accessorize!

My finds:

AMERICAN APPAREL Factory Grey $6.00

ESSIE Chinchilly $8.00

BUTTER LONDON Fash Pack $14.00

CHANEL LE VERNIS Particuliere $23.00

Halloween Is Creeping Up.......

Some of you may know that I'm OBSESSED with Tim Burton.  I have rubbed off on my daughter a little.... well maybe more than a little.  Every year she enjoys choosing a Tim Burton character as her costume.  She spends a great deal of time planning and designing her costume.  This year she has decided to be Mad Hatter, which I will post her pictures in a couple of weeks.  I thought I would share some of her pictures over the last couple of years.

What is your favorite Halloween costume?  Are you dressing up this year?

To Cute To Boot!

Everyone who knows all know that I have been obsessed (for the past couple of seasons) over these flat black suede over the knee boots.  I love this picture of  Kate Hudson and her look below.  Black off the shoulder top accessorized with a black handbag paired with skinny jeans and over the knee boots.  I could totally see myself in this outfit.  To cute to boot!

Though Kate's boots were a little pricey Guisseppe Zanotti-  $995.00.  I have found some options this season that are more affordable.

My finds:

Sam Edelman- JAMES at Piperlime $225.00

Steve Madden- OVERRPAS $109.95

Chinese Laundry- NITRO $99.00
What do you think about over the knee boots?  Will you be wearing them this season?

Neverending Nudes!

I have always been obsessed with the 60's look of very dramatic dark smoky eyes and pale nude lips.  I used to put foundation or concealer on my lips and use clear or white lip gloss on top.  I have never liked colored lipstick on myself.  Very beautiful on others but not on me.

My inspiration:

I am always searching for a very pigmented pale nude lipstick and even though I may have found the perfect one, I am always trying to find one to beat it.  Neverending!  I really like pink, beige and peach undertones.

My current favorites lippies in order:

Mac Pro- Fleshpot

Mac- Myth

Mac- Creme D' Nude

Gosh- Darling

Mac- Hue

Mac- Equality

Mac- Shy Girl

Mac- Peachstock

Revlon- Soft Nude

Revlon- Nude Attitude

Nude lips are very high maintenance.  Number 1- Keep lips conditioned.  Number 2- Prime your lips with a lip eraser such as Mac Pro Lip Erase or Laura Geller Lip Spackle.  Number 3- Use a light colored lip pencil to line and fill in lips.  Number 4- Use a lip brush to apply lipstick or pat into your lips with your finger.

 My Wishlist:

YSL Rouge Volupte- #2

Tom Ford- Blush Nude

Tom Ford- Vanilla Suede

OCC Lip Tar- Hush

OCC Lip Tar- Cha Cha

Barry M- Marshmallow

Do you like rocking  pale nude lips?  Are there any lipsticks I should try?

Evolution Of Smooth

I have been hearing about this lip balm called EOS for a while now.  I thought it would be a little harder to get my hands on one of these babies but I saw them out of the corner of my eye at CVS.

   Here is what they say:

Can a lip balm make you smile? We think so. That’s why we invented this one.
  • Long-lasting moisture
  • Shea butter & vitamin E
  • Smoothes on clear
  • New smooth sphere precisely glides on to lips
  • Twist-off top
  • Gluten-free
  • Paraben-free
  • Petrolatum-free
  • Phthalate-free
eos lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.

  Here is what I say:

Love the packaging!  Its not your typical chap-stick packaging so it wouldn't be hard to lose.  Great lip balm to throw in your beach bag or handbag.  Comes in 4 flavors- lemon drop- honeysuckle honeydew- summer fruit- sweet mint.  I bought the summer fruit.
EOS is definitely smooth and non sticky.  It has a great taste and smell.  The best part is applying it to your lips.  Really fun!!!

Orly Mirror Mirror!

I am loving this nail polish from Orly called Mirror Mirror.  It is the perfect color for fall or winter but I am wearing it now because I'm crazy and obsessed with neutral colors.

This nail polish is from their Once Upon A Time Color Collection.  Loving!  It looks very glassy and reflects light.  Apply two coats and a clear top coat for the best result.  Be the fairest one of all.....

What a Benefit......

There is a great deal at Ulta for Benefit products right now.  You will receive a 3pc. gift with purchase of $25.00 or more.  Gift includes deluxe (don't think big... think very tiny) samples of BADgal lash mascara in Black, Creaseless Cream in RSVP and High Beam or Stay don't Spray.  Somehow I lucked up and received 4 samples because the girl at the counter was really sweet and gave me an extra or maybe she knows that I'm in the store literally every other day and feels sorry for me..... I thought this would be a good time to buy a couple of products that have been on my wish list.  I purchased the Eye bright pencil and the Boi-ing concealer.

My review...

Boi-ing concealer in 01- I've been wanting to try this for quite sometime.  This concealer is very pigmented and has a great texture.  I've never been a fan of creamy concealers so this works for me.  The packaging is not bad.  I use it under the eye and in the corners of my eye, corners of my nose and a dab right under the chin.  I use concealer after I apply foundation.  Boi-ing is something I will re-purchase again.

Eye Bright- I am loving this.  This has been on my wish list forever.  It is such a bright and beautiful pink color.  I use it in the corners of my eyes and sometimes in the water line to make me look more awake and I also use it as a highlighter.  When using for highlighting purposes..draw a line on top of your cheeks, down the center of your nose, in the cupids bow and a line over each brow and the blend it in.

Bene tint- This is a rose-tinted lip and cheek stain. You just dab a little on the apples of  your cheeks and on your lips.  It looks very red and too dark for me but once its blended in it makes this nice rosy color.

Creasless cream shadow/liner in the color RSVP- This is an eyelid primer.  Eyelid primers is something to put on your eyelid before you apply your eye shadow.  It keeps your eye shadow on all day and keeps it from wearing off in the crease.  I love this particular color because its shimmery.  A beautiful champagne color.  You can also use it as a liner.

Stay Don't Stray-  This product does the same thing as the creaseless cream.  It make sure that your  shadows "stay put" and that your concealers "stay don't stray"  so you can use this on your eyelids and under the eye.

BADgal lash-  This mascara is awesome. WOW!  The brush on the end of the wand is so so big.  Use if  you want very big and noticeable eye lashes.  It almost looks as if I have on false eye lashes which I wear all the time but saves alot of work of putting them on.  Love!

All Benefit products comes with a little direction booklet on how to use.
